The Gulf of Mexico is our Mediterranean sea
It is often neglected but it is a remarkable sea bordering the United State, Mexico, and Cuba. Full of sea life and an amazing coastline with an extraordinary variety of landscapes, from the Keys through the Mississippi delta to the Texas/Mexican barrier islands and then into Mexico's volcanic headlands and the Lands of the Olmec and the Maya. And Old Havana, the Spanish entry way into the Americas, just 90 miles across the Florida straits from the Keys

Help preserve the wetlands, barrier islands
and the environment of the Gulf of Mexico region
As recent Hurricanes demonstrates,
WE ALL DEPEND ON THE GULF OF MEXICO
For the Gulf's oil and natural gas,
the warming waters of the Gulf Stream,
it's abundant natural resources and
the Gulf's Great Cities and unique cultures,
like the badly damaged City of New Orleans,
